Similar to goulash, this savory dish has been a week night hit in our household. For a spicier version – double the hot sauce and Cajun seasoning amounts.
Ingredients:
- 1 lb ground beef
- 1 yellow or red bell pepper – chopped
- 1 small onion – chopped
- 3 garlic cloves – minced
- 2 small potatoes peeled and chopped
- 2 medium tomatoes – chopped
- 8 ounces tomato sauce
- 1/2 cup red wine
- 1 tbsp hot sauce
- 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
- 2 tbsp soy sauce
- 1 tsp pepper
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp oregano
- 1/4 tsp Cajun Seasoning
Directions:
- In a dutch oven cook the beef, onion, bell pepper, and garlic until the meat is browned and the onions are close to translucent.
- Add the remaining ingredients to the pot and bring to a boil.
- Reduce heat and simmer covered for about 60 minutes or until the potatoes are cooked.
- Serve over white rice.
