Your new favorite green smoothie recipe for early mornings!

  • 2 cups water
  • 1 head Romaine lettuce
  • 1 cup spinach
  • 1 apple (cored & chopped)
  • 1 pear (cored & chopped)
  • 1 banana
  • Juice 1/2 lemon
  • 1 cup ice

Combine all the ingredients and blend (I usually blend on the Frappe setting so it comes out smooth).

I normally have this with egg whites, but if you want to add protein to it, I recommend 2 tbsp of chia seeds.  You could also add 2 tbsp of almond butter – but I haven’t had a chance to try that yet!
