Flank Steak Marinade (5 Stars)

My friend Sarah sent me this marinade recipe and it is fantastic.  The only mistake I made was cutting the meat the wrong way (word to the wise: it needs to be bias cut).  This recipe is great paired with a black bean, grilled corn and tomato mix (that recipe to follow soon).

INGREDIENTS:

  • 3 Cloves Garlic minced
  • 2 tbsp Soy Sauce
  • Juice from one large lime
  • 1 tbsp Apple Cider Vinegar
  • 1/2 tsp cumin
  • 1/2 tsp chili powder
  • 1/4 dried oregano
  • 1/4 tsp paprika
  • 1/4 tsp ground chipotle powder
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper
  • 1/4 tsp sea salt
  • 1 pound flank steak

DIRECTIONS:

Place all ingredients in a mixing boil and let sit for 3-4 hours (if you’re pressed for time).  Otherwise let the meat marinate in the sauce over night in the fridge.  Preheat grill to medium-high heat.  Remove steak from marinade and grill first side for about 4 minutes.  Flip and grill other side for about 3-4 minutes.  Let sit to cool for 5 minutes and serve.  Make sure you cut the meat perpendicular to the direction of the muscle.

RATING:

5 out of 5 stars
